BoneCast — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 July 2026
The short version: BoneCast collects no personal data. None. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. The app does not connect to the internet.
Who we are
BoneCast is developed and published by Coastal Bytes, an independent app developer based in Wales, United Kingdom. This policy explains how BoneCast handles your information — which, in practice, means explaining that it doesn't handle any.
Data we collect
We collect no data. Specifically, BoneCast:
- does not require or offer any account or sign-in;
- contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs;
- contains no advertising;
- makes no network requests of any kind;
- does not access your contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos, or any other device data.
Data stored on your device
BoneCast keeps a small amount of data on your device only, so the app works the way you left it:
- your roll history (the most recent 50 throws);
- your preferences (dice style, colour, and mode settings).
This data never leaves your device. It is not backed up to our servers, because we don't have any servers. It may be included in your own device backups (iCloud or computer backups), which are managed by Apple under Apple's own terms. Deleting the app permanently deletes this data.
Purchases
BoneCast is purchased through the Apple App Store. Any payment information is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We never see your payment details.
Children's privacy
BoneCast collects no data from anyone, including children. There is no user-generated content, no chat, no external links within the app, and no advertising.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
Under UK data protection law you have rights over personal data that organisations hold about you. Because BoneCast collects and processes no personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or erase on your behalf — everything the app stores lives on your device, under your control. If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact us using the details below and we will respond promptly.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of BoneCast ever changes how data is handled, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above before that version is released. Given the design of the app, we don't expect this to happen.
